Summer has arrived and fire season is sure to follow. This has been an unusually wet and cool spring and as a result all the light fuels, grasses and brush, have grown taller and more dense than normal. People assume that these light fuels are green and for now they are, but as the hot weather continues and these grasses dry out, there will be a considerable larger quanity of fuel for wildland fires. I guess if I have a point to make it is that residents need to be careful with fire and in particular recreational fires and cooking fires as the season continues.
